In addition to highly skilled and experienced aerospace engineers, technicians, test pilots, mechanics and support staff, AeroTEC maintains a list of on-staff and contract designated engineering representatives (DERs) to ensure efficient movement through certification, regardless of where your testing takes place.
Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs)
A DER is an individual, appointed in accordance with FAA Part 14 CFR 183.29, who holds an engineering degree or equivalent, possesses technical knowledge and experience, and meets the qualification requirements of FAA Order 8100.8D: Designee Management Handbook. AeroTEC maintains a list of on-staff and contract DERs to ensure efficient movement through certification, regardless of where your testing takes place.
AeroTEC has a broad spectrum of DERs on staff, covering many ATA Chapters from Flight Analyst, Powerplant and Engine Installations, through to Avionics, Structures and Flammability, and most areas in between. This deep pool of talent ensures we are able to assume delegated responsibility from the FAA, or understand the approach the regulator is looking for in areas that may be considered open to a certain level of interpretation. We use our DERs actively as a source of arbitration and review when developing testing plans in order to ensure maximized efficiency in demonstrating compliance to regulations – a true competitive edge that allows us to bring high overall value to your program.
